THE PLUS THEATRE

Business, culture and training meet natural stone

The 2024 edition will be a journey through architecture, design and universities to think about stone materials and share new experiments.

The Plus Theatre will be the beating heart of culture and training set up inside Hall 10. During the event, this area will be animated by talks, lectures and workshops focusing on natural stone. It will also be home to the VIP lounge, the restaurant, the wine bar and six cultural exhibitions welcoming exhibitors and visitors to outline natural stone and its applications through an approach ideally inter-connecting the entire production cycle, from the block to the end product. Design and architecture, art and university experimentation, as well as the involvement of important furniture brands: the central theme is a varied yet harmonious interpretation of how natural stone lends itself to more or less complex applications in various sectors and the future developments likely to emerge in this sector.

EXPERIMENTAL PROJECTS

FULL / EMPTY

Curator and author: Raffaello Galiotto

The close relationship between matter and the superfluous, expressed in Vasari’s quotation, defines the inseparable connection between solid and void, a fundamental concept of antithetical nature present in sculpture, architecture, and design.

CECI N’EST PAS UN FOSSILE

Curator: Giorgio Canale

Marmomac Meets Academies 2024 places the theme of future lithic design at the centre of the visitor’s reflection, mainly focused on the close relationship between knowledge and know-how, theory and practice, craftsmanship, and the most advanced technology. These concepts will materialize in the creation of an innovative setup that stages a hypothetical “workshop” of future design where computational design coexists seamlessly with digital fabrication and artisanal wisdom with all its technical tools.

WALK OF STONE

Curator: Giorgio Canale

The exhibition is an ode to the richness and diversity of natural materials, offering an extraordinary scenario that celebrates the variety of colours and textures bestowed by nature. With an approximately 300-square-meter runway, the event provides an exclusive showcase for companies, allowing them to exhibit and enhance one square meter of their best creations.

ARCHITECTURAL MODULES

Curator and author: ADI Italia – Associazione per il disegno industriale – Delegazione Veneto e Trentino Alto Adige

The design world is constantly changing; architecture evolves from wet construction sites to systems for dry construction. Serial products and parametric design integrate into designing buildings and environments. design is a pivotal point.  Thanks to the collaboration between the designer and the company, this exhibition aims to develop new construction elements. They will be exhibited as three-dimensional elements designed for facades, walls, and interior spaces. The projects will be designed and crafted with the technologies available to participating companies.

VIAGGIO AL CENTRO DELLA TAVOLA

Curator and author: Raffaello Galiotto

In front of an empty table, we are commonly inclined to place an object at its centre. A reassuring gesture, guided by our innate sense of order and balance, is carried out to highlight the surface’s ideal point and determine the peripheral area for use.

THE APPLAUD

Curator and author: Giorgio Canale

DYNAMIC REAL-TIME INSTALLATION – For the second year will be implemented an artistic project during the event itself creating a strong attraction pole. The work will be signed by an internationally renowned artist and will progressively take shape hour by hour to highlight the input of latest-generation machinery, modern technologies and people in the creation of a project unique of its kind in the world.
